They had been abandoned near the second intersection of via Giardini , in Muravera , in a cardboard box. Three puppy dogs were saved by the men of the town's Barracella company who welcomed them into their headquarters, cared for and fed them.

«We intervened at the request of the commander of the Local Police of the Union of Municipalities of Sarrabus, Maura Murgioni – said Daniele Battaglia, commander of the Company barracellare of Muravera – in turn notified by the Ecozoophile Guards of the Italian Animal Protection Organization of Cagliari. Once we arrived on site, we found the puppies who, fortunately, were in good condition, and we transferred them to our command where they were looked after and refreshed."

After a few hours, the three dogs were taken over by local police officers and the staff of the Dog House , the kennel in Cardedu , in Ogliastra, which has an agreement with the Municipality of Muravera. Here they will receive adequate care and can be adopted.

For his part, the Councilor for the Environment and the Villages, Fabio Piras, underlined that «the municipal administration believes in the Barracella company and in the tasks of environmental supervision and civil protection that it carries out. Fundamental activities in a territory as vast and delicate as ours. The barracelli are and must continue to be an additional support for all citizens."
