Tragedy at dawn on state road 466 at km 9,600 , between Serdiana and Ussana, where a motorcycle flew off the road at a bend: a fatal fall for a 37-year-old from Quartu, Mirko Farris, who died instantly after hitting his head heavily on the asphalt. The driver of the motorcycle, Roberto Sirigu, 39, also from Quartu, ended up in hospital and admitted to Brotzu for observation. The man, at the time of admission, was conscious and had injuries to various parts of his body.

The Carabinieri of the Nucleo Radiomobile della Compagnia di Dolianova intervened on the scene and carried out the required investigations. Captain Luca Delle Vedove, commander of the Compagnia di Dolianova, also arrived. The Kawasaki motorcycle was driven by Roberto Sirigu, who is also its owner: at a bend on the Serdiana-Monastir road, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which slid onto the asphalt. Mirko Farris died instantly: the attempts of the paramedics to save his life were useless. The injured person, as mentioned, was taken to Brotzu with a 118 ambulance.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident. It is not to be excluded that there was a dog on the asphalt that the driver of the motorcycle could have seen at the last moment without being able to avoid it with the motorcycle becoming uncontrollable. Certainly, if this is what happened, the dog was not hit anyway. This would be one of the hypotheses followed by the Carabinieri who are also moving to trace any witnesses without evidently neglecting other hypotheses. For the moment, only hypotheses are being made. The motorcycle has been seized for the necessary technical checks.
