The funeral of Teresa Vacca, 82, and her son Marco Durzu, 58, took place in Maracalagonis. They were found dead last Wednesday in their home on Via San Giovanni.
The parish priest, Don Nicolò Praxolu, spoke touchingly in a church where many tears were shed and prayers were said for the two victims, who likely died on Tuesday, the day before their bodies were found.
"Mrs. Teresa," the parish priest said, "was a caring, good, kind, and silent mother. To her son, bedridden after an accident, she gave everything a good mother could give. A singular heart, one for the other, in that house on Via San Giovanni."
After Mass, mother and son were buried next to each other in the presence of their relatives in the new part of the old Maracalagonis cemetery.
