The body of Davide Manca, the forty-one-year-old from Cagliari who had been missing since the night between Saturday and Sunday, when he tried to cross the Rio Camboni, in Monte Arcosu, with his off-road vehicle, during a violent downpour, has been found.

According to information coming from the search area, the remains were located a short distance from the ford, about 500 meters below Baracca Sassa, where Manca had been carried away by the water before the eyes of his hiking companions. The discovery was made by a team of specialized river firefighters, who had been airlifted to that area, together with a mountain rescue team: impossible to reach on foot, due to the disastrous conditions of the terrain.

The pieces of the off-road vehicle were instead found further down the valley, dragged by water and mud.

Under the coordination of the Prefecture, the recovery of the body was arranged with the use of the Drago143 of the flight department of the Alghero fire brigade.

Today at Monte Arcosu there were many volunteers at work, called together by Manca's friends to contribute to the search. Shortly after 11, unfortunately, the worst and, unfortunately, feared outcome.
