The hue and cry is closing in on the killer of Lenardo Mocci, the 23-year-old bricklayer from Villacidro killed last night in Monserrato with a gunshot to the chest .

During these investigations, the Carabinieri of the Quartu branch interviewed numerous people, focusing their attention on three young men. One, reportedly a friend of the victim, is believed to be the person seen by some witnesses leaving the square in a car after the crime. The scene, according to reports, is documented by footage from local security cameras, made available to investigators by the municipality.

Then there are two other young acquaintances of the victim, who had probably seen him shortly before the crime: they were questioned at length by the investigators.

Clothing and other evidence were collected from the location— in Piazza Settimio Severo —where the twenty-three-year-old was last night, until midnight, shortly before he was killed. These items could be used to reconstruct the victim's final hours.

According to reports, the twenty-three-year-old traveled to Monserrato with his friend in a car. The two apparently met the other young men, perhaps at a home, and then got out.

Perhaps they were getting ready to reach the car when the bricklayer was approached by someone who murdered him.
