A month after the paramilitary assault on the Mondialpol headquarters in Caniga , a weak point in the bandits' plan moves the investigation to Olbia. The Sassari Flying Squad policemen discovered that the Cat excavator used to overcome the boundary wall had never been stolen, or at least no one had reported its theft .
And if there is no complaint for the theft and the vehicle was available to the commando, the owner must give explanations, as does the person to whom the Cat was sold.
The versions given have several points that do not hold up according to those who investigate. The excavator would have been sold to Luogosanto and used on various construction sites. The owner, a man from Gallura, claims to have sold it to a businessman who should have collected it in Olbia, where it had been parked and where it remained for a long time, without ever being caught in the period preceding the robbery . The man says he was not interested in it because he was convinced that it had already been taken over.
A story that is not exactly linear, it is not excluded that the first suspects could emerge from here. Meanwhile, there is talk of a bunker or basement not far from Caniga from which the loot (over 10 million euros) has not yet moved .
