The president of ERSU in Cagliari, Cosimo Ghiani, does not deny that there are problems in the new Emilio Lussu campus in viale La Plaia. It just diminishes its significance.

In recent days, the student representatives had denounced the presence of mold on the walls and rust, as well as the poor organization of the spaces, the lack of suitable bathrooms and even hot water. All, in a structure inaugurated not even a month ago, on July 30, on a day that the institution for the right to study had defined as "historic".

«We are already working to overcome the inefficiencies», assures Ghiani, «in particular on the air conditioning systems for which the companies in charge of maintenance are already at work. As for hot water, where absent, it has already been restored since last Thursday. The opening of the common bathroom on the ground floor near the bar area has already been arranged, as requested by some students ».

The president of ERSU also assures that the «careful verification of the functionality of the air conditioning systems in relation to some phenomena of condensation formed in the rooms has been started. They were already to the attention of the companies, who were aware of the problems, but we are in August and unfortunately in a holiday period for them too, it was not possible to intervene immediately».

Ghiani is keen to point out that «these are not structural problems. We absolutely want to reassure the boys, girls and their families : they are small disservices which are already being resolved in these hours and which are to be considered 'ordinary' for a new structure at its first functional start". The missing furniture? «Financed only now, they will arrive next year».
