Interrogations last night and this morning to try to shed full light on the Monserrato murder.
Several young people were interviewed by the Carabinieri, who also collected several testimonies. Their painstaking work aimed at accurately reconstructing the episode, the motive that led to the crime, and the reason why the victim, Leonardo Mocci, 23, ended up in Piazza Settimio Severo after traveling from Villacidro, where he lived.
Law enforcement is likely pursuing a specific lead, searching for all the pieces needed to clarify everything down to the smallest details. It remains to be seen whether the killer fired his gun in a cold, unexplained manner, after a settling of scores or after a bloody argument. Whether there was an assault or not. The Carabinieri of the RIS (Italian Special Operations Unit) have canvassed the entire area, also searching for other evidence that might be linked to the crime.
Meanwhile, the necropsy on the body, scheduled for yesterday, will be carried out today by the coroner Roberto Demontis , while the experts of the Carabinieri continue to examine the images recovered from the municipal cameras placed in the streets leading to the crime scene.
A dramatic event that has shocked the residents of the square, but also the town hall, with Mayor Tomaso Locci hoping for an immediate closure of the investigation.
