For days, they've been sleeping rough on Isola Bianca and trying, but being turned away, to board ferries departing from the port of Olbia. But since last night, about a hundred people, who arrived in the Gallura town from the Monastir reception center, have been struggling to find shelter from the rain and cold.

The migrants entered the Maritime Station to spend the night, but the building—which remains accessible during daylight hours—is always locked in the evening. The Maritime Station was evacuated by State Police personnel, who now patrol Isola Bianca 24/7, in collaboration with Port Authority security personnel.

Tensions are rising in the port of Olbia. Arrivals are occurring daily, while ferry departures to Civitavecchia and Livorno are limited to those with valid identification documents. Bad weather complicates matters: until yesterday, summer-like temperatures allowed migrants to remain outside the maritime station overnight.

The State Police personnel union is once again pushing for intervention by the Ministry of the Interior. Provincial Secretary Massimiliano Pala says: "At this point, it's necessary to organize flights to transfer these people. Postponing decisions on the difficult situation at the Port of Olbia is unacceptable." This morning, too, the migrants, almost all of them Algerian nationals, asked to be allowed to reach Italy.

The Port Authority has stated that the situation is currently under control and that the overnight evacuation was necessary due to the closure of the maritime terminal. In this stalemate, the Authority awaits decisive action from the Prefecture.
