A cell phone, heroin and hashish: they were where they shouldn't have been, namely on (and inside the body) of inmates at Uta Jail. The discoveries were made by prison officers. This was announced by Luca Fais, regional secretary of Sappe, who speaks of "the end of the year with a bang".

The latest discovery, yesterday: "During a thorough search that took place in a section of the medium security detainee circuit, the agents found a cell phone on a prison inmate, well hidden in his private parts". So good that radiological tests were needed to identify the device.

This result, continues Fais, "follows another operation carried out a few weeks ago: the prison police found three grams of heroin, two grams of hashish and 20 grams of subutex".

Both operations, says Fais, "are the result of investigative activity that sees police personnel engaged on a daily basis in contrasting and repressing the illegal phenomenon of drug dealing and illegal objects between bars".

To date, six mobile phones and various quantities of drugs have been seized.
