Graziano Mesina has been released from prison. The request for a deferral of sentence for health reasons presented yesterday to the Milan surveillance court by the lawyers of Graziano Mesina (83 years old), Beatrice Goddi and Maria Luisa Vernier, was accepted.

One of the two lawyers announced: «He is now in detention in the prison ward of San Paolo in Milan».

The former red primrose of Sardinian banditry had been detained for two years in the Opera prison, but had already been ill for some time.

Yesterday the two lawyers had announced that "he was diagnosed with an oncological disease that has now spread, is incurable, and is in the terminal stage."
