«A negative opinion is expressed on the environmental compatibility» of the «project for an integrated agrivoltaic system consisting of a super-intensive almond grove, annual forage crops, storage system and (above all, ed.) a photovoltaic system connected to the grid, with a nominal power of 56.55 MW, in the municipalities of Carbonia and Gonnesa, in the province of South Sardinia».

The Ministry of Environment and Energy Security has rejected the project to install a giant silicon field consisting of 81,956 panels, covering a total area of over 155 hectares, 87 of which are fenced.

The archaeological sites

The technicians of the Ministry of Culture, called into question, have underlined that «the area where the photovoltaic panels will be positioned is located in the visual cone of the archaeological park of Monte Sirai and therefore the system would have a negative impact on the visual area of the site as a whole». And this would be a damage for «the important investments in scientific research and for the valorization in function of the implementation of the cultural and tourist offer of the territory».
