Marmilla, wind turbines and waste. The mayors: "Enough is enough"

«After the forty-four wind turbines on the hills of the Marmilla wind , now five Municipalities appear on the black list of the Ministry of the Environment , considered areas suitable for receiving nuclear waste: it is really too much ».

Yesterday afternoon in Sanluri , at the Akinu Congia theatre, the president of the Su entu nostu committee, Marco Pau, reiterated a strong and clear "no" to the storage of radioactive waste .

There are fourteen municipalities affected on the island: Albagiara, Assolo, Guasila, Mandas, Nurri, Ortacesus, Siurgus Donigala, Usellus, five in Marmilla: Segariu, Setzu, Tuili, Turri, Ussaramanna and Villamar .

«The issue - said Marco Sideri of Ussaramanna - is political and social . The State pretends not to listen when we ask for interventions on our streets which have been awaiting safety work for 30 years, when we complain about the presence of a doctor for two hours a day. He shamelessly remembers us only when he takes over our land, without even involving us."
