"Mom attacked me and I defended myself."

This is what the 43-year-old arrested on charges of killing his 76-year-old mother Maria Atzeni last night in San Gavino would have said in a phone call to his cousin Simone Uras .

It emerges from the reconstruction made by the investigators. Uras, who is facing charges of voluntary manslaughter , is said to have telephoned his cousin immediately after the crime to say these few words to her, before walking away.

And it was the cousin who notified Simone's brother, who went into the house and found his mother's lifeless body , alerting the emergency services.

The carabinieri had already intervened in that house due to family disputes, on one occasion a TSO had also been requested which was refused by Uras's mother herself .

Tomorrow the prosecutor on duty, Nicoletta Mari, will entrust the task of carrying out the autopsy to the medical examiner. It is very likely that counseling will be requested for Uras, who suffers from mental problems .
