Marghine: "Authorized" fires devastate countryside over weekend
The flames started out of control from permitted burnings during this periodPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The rain was a godsend. The permits issued by the Forestry Corps for the burning of stubble and agricultural waste have become real threats to the woods, making it difficult to drive on state and provincial roads.
Over the weekend, much of the Marghine countryside was affected by uncontrolled fires, especially on Sunday afternoon, which transformed the countryside between Macomer and Sindia, but also between Sindia and Suni, into a brazier.
The situation worsened especially yesterday afternoon when, even on state road 129 bis, between Macomer and Bosa, motorists returning from the seaside had difficulty passing due to the heavy smoke and flames that invaded the roadway.
"The alarm was raised," says Toto Listo, Macomer's environmental councilor, "but the fire prevention system worked perfectly, with the Civil Protection, the Forestry Corps, the firefighters, and even the barracelli, who managed the situation with a controlled operation to prevent it from turning into a vast fire . In any case, there was no risk to people, although there was a risk of devastating consequences for the environment and the local area."
The danger of burning permits remains, with the rules imposed by law, which many do not strictly observe.
