Technical investigations are still underway (in Portisco) on board the yacht Gravia, under seizure since last August 8th, when the lifeless body of the young skipper from Campania, Giovanni Marchionni, was found in a cabin.

Prosecutor Milena Aucone's consultant, chemist Giuseppe Mangano, worked on the vessel for over ten hours. The Tempio Prosecutor's Office is seeking evidence of intoxication from hydrogen sulfide fumes. Traces of the acid were reportedly found in a battery that was not fully functional. However, this is irrelevant, at least for now, because the toxic substance was not found on the outside of the device.

Contrary to what emerged during a previous inspection, the presence of carbon monoxide was ruled out. The results of the toxicology tests entrusted to the coroner in charge of the young victim's autopsy will be crucial. The consultants were also represented by lawyers Giampaolo Murrighile and Sebastiano Giaquinto, representing the shipowner (not under investigation), and Gabriele Satta and Maurizio Capozzo, representing the Marchionnis. The lawyers declined to comment, pending the conclusion of the inspection.
