The lifeless body of the man who was reported missing at sea in Cala di Trana, Palau, has been recovered.

According to initial information, the tourist, over 70 years old, had gone out on a dinghy with his wife: The man had dived in to snorkel, resurfaced after a while to call for help, then resurfaced and never returned. The alarm was raised immediately.

The CP870 patrol boat and the fire brigade's aquatic garrison, including divers, worked on site under the coordination of the La Maddalena Coast Guard.

After several hours of searching, the worst outcome was reached: the man had suffered a fatal illness.
