Giovanni Marchionni died on the yacht where he was working. This is yet another death at work in Italy , and we want the truth: this is the position of the family and the lawyers (Gabriele Satta and Maurizio Capozzo) of the young man who died at dawn on August 8th on a yacht docked in Portisco . And they share the same assessments as the mayor of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione (38, a journalist), who has taken a very hard line : "The Municipality of Bacoli will stand by Giovanni's mother, father, brothers, sister, grandmother, and relatives and friends. We are in contact with the family's lawyers and will join the civil action in any eventual trial. Because someone can't die like this at 21. Anyone who leaves for work should return home alive."

During the boy's funeral, held yesterday in Bacoli, his hometown, the appeal to the judiciary was unequivocal: investigate for a work-related accident . And some circumstances emerging from the investigation documents seem to support this theory.

THE RECONSTRUCTION – Giovanni Marchionni had his own cabin on the yacht and was not on vacation. Witnesses interviewed by investigators describe a stench that lingered for several hours on the dock where the tragedy occurred. This stench was precisely described and perfectly consistent with the odor of hydrogen sulfide. This substance (the fumes of which can be lethal) is also produced by the boiling, overheated sulfuric acid in lead batteries. One factor that raises some questions is the lack of involvement, at least in the initial phase of the investigation, of labor inspectors from the Olbia Local Health Authority (Spresal).
