After eight years, magistrate Gregorio Capasso is leaving Gallura; the CSM plenum has chosen him as the Public Prosecutor of Latina.

The decision was made today: Capasso (62) received 15 votes, while another magistrate received 12. In the coming weeks, the head of the Gallura prosecutors will take up his previous office. Gregorio Capasso took office in Tempio in July 2018. He previously worked in Crotone, Palmi, and Rome.

Among his most famous investigations is that into deviant Freemasonry, conducted when he was serving as an officer in the capital.

In Gallura, Capasso has conducted several important homicide investigations and has identified combating gender-based violence and protecting vulnerable groups among his priorities. He has created specialized investigative teams, one of which has conducted dozens of investigations into construction and landscaping crimes, resulting in seizure orders and demolition orders. Gregorio Capasso also represented the prosecution in the Grillo trial, from the first hearing until the Tempio Tribunal's ruling.
