«Doctors should never be left alone, by contract» .

Health Minister Orazio Schillaci said this regarding the death of Maddalena Carta , the young doctor from Dorgali who died at the Brotzu hospital after ignoring signs of illness in order to continue caring for her patients.

Then, addressing the shortage of general practitioners, he added: "We strongly want to reform the training of general practitioners, a sector experiencing a staff shortage. We want to make this role more attractive for young doctors ."
