A marijuana plantation was found in the Lodine countryside by officers from the Gavoi Police Station and the Nuoro Flying Squad.

As many as 1,600 plants were seized in the “Puddis” area, all in the inflorescence stage and with THC levels 15 times higher than the legally permitted threshold .

Four people have been charged at large. The plantation was difficult to locate because it was located in an area difficult to see due to thick vegetation. The Nuoro Public Prosecutor's Office is now investigating to identify the producers of the substance.

The Nuoro area, favored by its climate and the sparse human presence across large tracts of land, is proving to be a highly favorable area for marijuana cultivation. On July 26 , two men were arrested in Fonni while working on a large plantation in the town's countryside. A total of 4,500 plants were seized.
