Good sea conditions have encouraged a resumption of migrant landings along the coasts of southern Sardinia: between yesterday morning and last night , 79 migrants arrived, including a woman and a minor.
The first landing occurred in the Teulada area, in Tuerredda. The Carabinieri located 11 adults and a minor who were leaving the beach after abandoning a 5-meter-long boat with a 70-horsepower outboard motor. Shortly thereafter, the Carabinieri also located seven migrants who were leaving the beach at Porto Pino in the Sant'Anna Arresi area.
Last night, a Guardia di Finanza patrol boat intercepted a small boat carrying 15 men about 20 miles off the coast of Sant'Antioco. All were transported to port. Shortly thereafter, another small boat carrying 13 migrants, including a woman, was intercepted by a Guardia di Finanza vessel, also in the Sant'Antioco waters. Another 25 migrants were located by the Coast Guard and transported to the port of Cagliari.
In the middle of the night, seven more men were stopped by the Carabinieri as they were leaving the beach at Porto Pino. All the migrants were transferred to the reception center in Monastir.
