Twenty-two migrants who had just landed on the coast of Sardinia were intercepted by the Carabinieri between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

A group of eight foreigners – men, adults and of presumed Algerian nationality – were tracked down by the military of the Cortoghiana Station along Via del Mare, in Porto Pino. They were all in good health. However, the vessel used for the landing was not found.

In Domus de Maria the Carabinieri of the local station first tracked down two migrants of presumed Tunisian nationality, without documents, who had landed shortly before in Chia, with a boat that in this case too was not found.

Then 12 more migrants were identified in the area, also of presumed Tunisian nationality, including a minor and a pregnant woman.

All were accompanied to the First Reception Centre in Monastir.
