Investigations closed into the death of Chiara Carta, the thirteen-year-old from Silì killed by her mother Monica Vinci in February 2023.

The prosecutor Valerio Bagattini, who coordinated the investigations, has closed the case and now it will be up to the Judge of the preliminary hearings to establish the developments of the proceedings and decide whether to send the 54-year-old, who is currently in the Rems of Capoterra, to trial in the Assize Court , or whether the judicial affair will end with the mother's non-imputability.

The tragedy dates back to February 18, 2023 in Silì, on the eve of the Sartiglia. In the house where Monica Vinci lived with her daughter, hell broke loose at lunchtime.

It is not known what could have triggered such a strong reaction and a ferocious aggression towards the girl to the point of killing her with a Swiss army knife. Shortly after, the woman threw herself from the first floor window of the house trying to end it all. After the alarm, the rescuers transferred the mother to the hospital in Sassari while there was nothing more to be done for Chiara.
