They have sold on the web specimens of Sardinian partridge, caught and illegally detained. But at the appointment with the buyers they found a surprise.

Having received the report of the clandestine market, the men of the Investigation Unit of the Inspectorate of Cagliari and the staff of the Isili Forest Station got to work.
At the agreed appointment, the Foresters of the Investigation Unit showed up in plain clothes: as soon as they received the cage with three splendid specimens of Sardinian partridge, they qualified by seizing them and denouncing the two people responsible for the crime for trade in wildlife.
The charges are illegal capture and trade in wildlife: they risk up to six months of imprisonment and a fine of up to 4 thousand euros.
The clandestine market of live wildlife, the investigators explain, "is an evolving phenomenon and generally aimed at buyers interested in repopulating hunting areas in degradation or for use as a live attraction, a practice that is prohibited in Sardinia".
The animals seized, after a veterinary visit to the Crav of the Forestas Agency, will be released into the wild in a protected area.
