There is not only drug dealing among the crimes most committed in southern Sardinia: also complicit in the pandemic and restrictions, scams, computer fraud and extortion, especially of a sexual nature, have grown. This is what emerges from the data relating to last year of the provincial command of the Carabinieri of Cagliari.

"2021 was the year of the reopening after a 2020 characterized by restrictions due to Covid", underlined the provincial commander, Cesario Totaro, "and in the end a good job of prevention was done. If we compare the data of thefts and robberies with 2019 we record net decreases. Now we will take action for services and controls in some sectors that will be able to restart strongly and which can be fertile ground for crime ".

Many interventions by the carabinieri for the presence throughout the territory of the Arma barracks: 278 thousand calls in a year to 112, almost 30 thousand interventions with 5,500 complaints and 500 arrests, a third for drug dealing. Four murders (two femicides), three of which with arrest of those responsible. Cases of maltreatment in the family are stable, while persecutory acts are increasing.

"Another year of great commitment", added Totaro, "to guarantee maximum security for citizens even simply by responding to a request for information. But above all, a prevention work that has paid off with the decrease in thefts and robberies. ".
