The Prefecture of Oristano has given the green light to the new provincial plan for the management of hydraulic and hydrogeological emergencies. A document which, starting from a framework of thematic and territorial knowledge, defines the organizational system and methods of intervention in the event of natural disasters.
"Particular attention must be paid to adverse meteorological phenomena, intense precipitations, sometimes even torrential rains, with possible consequences for the population, economic activities and the environment", observes the Prefect Salvatore Angieri.
The Plan involves the police forces, the Port Authority, the fire brigade and all the state components involved with the aim of improving the timing of the activation of the envisaged measures.
"Among the primary prevention activities - adds the government official - civil protection planning represents a fundamental tool, together with information to the population and the large-scale dissemination of civil protection culture".
