Kisses, hugs and lots of music in many squares of the city like it hasn't happened in a long time. Thousands of Cagliari residents celebrated New Year's Eve with the main concert by Stewart Copeland in Piazza Yenne (the line went from the stage under the statue of Carlo Felice to almost the Bank of Italy) and then with music in Piazza Garibaldi, San Giacomo, at the Bastione di Santa Croce and on the Umberto I terrace of the Bastione di Saint Remy .

The administration's choice to return to the widespread New Year's Eve was rewarded. Sold out in the five squares of Cagliari to celebrate the arrival of 2025.

Main event. A unique figure in world music, legendary drummer and founder of the Police, Stewart Copeland drags thousands of Cagliari residents (some say at least ten thousand) from the main stage set up in Piazza Yenne, singing and playing the band's most famous songs - such as Roxanne, Don't stand so close to me and Message in a bottle - in an unprecedented and overwhelming symphonic experience.

There was also a big party at the Bastione : at the Libarium, many celebrated the arrival of the new year with the music of Smash Hits. Among them was the mayor Massimo Zedda who in a video sent his best wishes to the citizens and outlined, in broad terms, the objectives for 2025.

Finally, the success of the party that after five years returns to the Bastione must be noted. People dance and sing at the top of their lungs until late at night under the stars with the live show by Rovelli and the DJ set by Jfk, Venc and Tixi. A success that Erica Costa, 30, osteopath, explains in this way: «To drive you crazy. Happy New Year».
