Immediately the convening of a Committee for safety and public order , the residents of some areas of the historic center of Olbia (P.zza Mercato, Via Acquedotto, P.zza Matteotti, Via Lamarmora, Via Nuova, Via XX Settembre and beginning via Vittorio Veneto) ask for a response from the police. For some time now, and to no avail, they have been reporting the illegal occupation of vacant homes (in the photo, a forced door) and drug dealing in the street, as well as brawls and thefts.

Some residents have decided to publicly denounce the situation with an open letter : «We would like to start living our daily lives peacefully again and not have to look over our shoulders or decide to give up going out because they are "trading" on the street. Furthermore, there are numerous activities of various kinds, as well as many non-hotel accommodation facilities in newly renovated buildings that represent the widespread hotel model. We wonder why the residences and the title to which the people reported several times, occupy the buildings, occupants who play "toss the garbage bag" are not verified.

"We feel threatened in our daily lives - the letter continues -, as well as deprived of personal freedom, since we are unable to go out at all hours, many of us were born and raised in the centre, many others have chosen to invest and live downtown with the hope that with time things would improve. Unfortunately, this has not happened to date and we have found ourselves having to publicly express our discomfort".
