Illegal connection to the Abbanoa network: maxi-fine for a woman from Ozieri

This is what a woman from Ozieri will have to pay, found guilty of "water theft" and illegal connection to the water supply by the Court of Sassari.

In recent months Abbanoa technicians had discovered an illegal system for by-passing the regularly installed meter, with the aim of not paying service and bills.

But Abbanoa operators, equipped with electronic palmtops to check the regularity of connections and meter data in real time, unmasked the ploy, reporting the woman to the police.

In the past few days, the penal decree of the Court was filed: the person responsible will have to disburse the maxi-pecuniary penalty in lieu of the prison sentence.
