A tragic hunting accident. Two young hunters, 28 years old , Giacomo Desogus and Matthias Steri , died like this. They were found during the night in the locality of Santu Lianu , in the countryside of Quartu , by the Carabinieri. According to an initial reconstruction, one of them shot the other in the back of the head by mistake and then took his own life using the rifle belonging to his friend, the only one with a gun license.

The two had gone away in the evening in the wooded area of Mela Murgia, without returning home. It was the relatives who raised the alarm, worried about the boys of whom they had no news. The signal from their cell phones, turned on but ringing in vain, guided the rescue machine. Thus, thanks to the location, the search began. On site were the Carabinieri of the Quartu Sant'Elena Company, the Fire Brigade of Cagliari, who intervened with a team, and the regional Forestry Corps. The Prefecture was immediately informed and the provincial plan for the search for missing persons was activated.
The technical surveys will be carried out at first light by the Carabinieri Investigative Unit, which will proceed with further investigations to clarify precisely the dynamics of the event.
