House explodes in Sassari after gas leak: 62-year-old in critical condition

The man who was overwhelmed by the explosion in his house yesterday in Sassari, between via Don Minzoni and via Principessa Maria , is in critical condition .
The 62-year-old suffered extensive second-degree burns over 70 percent of his body and is currently intubated and sedated.
The man, a surveyor and amateur singer, was supposed to participate in a choral performance of Carmina Burana scheduled for today in Alghero.
Yesterday, however, the tragedy occurred, caused by a gas leak that caused an explosion in the top floor apartment, with blocks of bricks falling and destroying two cars parked under the building.
Luckily only two people were slightly injured , but the man was the one who fared the worst and his condition remains very critical.
