Serigne Gueye 's body will return to his country of origin, Senegal, in the next few days. The man, 70 years old (he would have turned seventy-one on January 3rd), is the victim of the tragic road accident on Thursday 21st December on the 131 dcn , near the junction for Lula.
Gueye was a street vendor (he had lived in Torpè for years) and that day he was driving his van. It was evening when the vehicle suffered a breakdown , leaving it stranded. The man pulled over to the side of the road and got out of the vehicle to check the fault : just at that moment a bus arrived and hit him , killing him practically instantly.
The Sassari prosecutor has opened an investigation into road homicide, and now it will be the task of a judge to establish precisely what happened. The man's family demands truth and justice, and has entrusted Studio 3A-Valore Spa to clarify matters. Serigne Gueye left behind his wife and three children (who live in Senegal, except for a daughter resident in France), as well as two sisters and a brother who emigrated to Lombardy.
