The law governing mushroom picking in Sardinia has been ready for two years, it already has the approval of a large majority of the commission but has not yet been approved: the last, easy step in the regional council is missing.
The text must arrive immediately in the Chamber, because “it is necessary to regulate an activity that takes place practically every autumn without rules: it is necessary to determine when and how the harvest must take place”. In addition, "we need to give an immediate response to citizens on this issue, which is particularly felt by the mountain communities".
The appeal comes from the regional councilors of the Progressives Antonio Piu and Diego Loi : the latter is also the mayor of Santu Lussurgiu and knows the problem very well.
Violated private lands, stockpiling mushrooms without respect for the areas, tensions between owners and researchers: facts that are on the agenda. Stakes need to be put in place, according to opposition advisers.
“Sardinia”, explains Loi, “suffers from the serious and guilty delay of the Region in implementing the national framework law. With the arrival of autumn, woods and countryside are crowded with harvesters, an activity that often creates tensions between harvesters and agricultural entrepreneurs. The collection ”, he continues,“ should be inspired by the principles of self-sustenance and not by speculation, but above all also based on respect for the territory ”.
