Prevention has never been so close: from today until Tuesday the 5th, Piazza Sorcinelli, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, becomes the beating heart of health thanks to the "Heart Bank" truck tour, an initiative promoted by the Foundation for Your Heart of the National Association of Hospital Cardiologists.

The exams

Inside a specially equipped medical truck, all residents will have the opportunity to undergo a free, comprehensive cardiac screening. This includes cardiovascular screening, including an electrocardiogram (EKG) and arrhythmia screening; a printout of the EKG with all blood pressure values and medical history stored on BancomHeart; and a metabolic screening with the (on-the-fly) measurement of 9 metabolic parameters: cholesterol, triglycerides, blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, and uric acid.

The card

Everyone who joins the Truck will receive a personal BancomHeart, a unique card that allows 24-hour access to their electrocardiogram, blood pressure, current medical conditions, current therapies, lifestyle habits, and all cardiac and laboratory tests performed. All data will be stored in a virtual "safe" that allows, through a secret password known only to the user, the user to connect to the "Heart Bank" from Italy and/or abroad to consult or download their medical data or make it available to their doctor or an emergency room in case of emergency.

The event sees the participation of the Cardiology Department of the Santissima Trinità (directed by Carlo Balloi).
