Contracts for "redistributed" residents and doctors: Bartolazzi's recipe for the crisis in Gallura
The councilor met 26 mayors in Tempio, the mayor of Olbia: «We are waiting for the announcements to be followed up»The dramatic situation of Gallura's healthcare is the theme of the meeting between the 26 mayors of Gallura and the regional councilor Armando Bartolazzi.
The face-to-face meeting, behind closed doors, was held in Tempio with the first citizens who explained to Bartolazzi that the hospital and local medicine system no longer holds up.
Among the measures announced by the councilor are the hiring of specialists and the movement of doctors from larger hospitals to Gallura facilities.
The immediate comment from the mayor of Olbia, Settimo Nizzi: «Now we expect that what was announced by the councilor will be followed up». The Olbia Emergency Department, with over 200 visits per day and only two doctors on duty, is not in a position to guarantee the services that the Gallura area requires.
Bartolazzi spoke of measures that should strengthen the workforce, but the emergency is now, in these hours . The mayors of the coastal centers have denounced the risks of the evident inadequacy of the healthcare system, with hundreds of thousands of tourists taking the efficiency of hospital services and beyond for granted. Some first citizens have already announced legal initiatives.
