Alessandra Sabba was 49 years old and originally from Pennabilli, a town in the province of Rimini. She leaves behind a husband and two children, aged 13 and 7. After her brain death was declared , the organ harvesting process was initiated, involving the Olbia hospital and other facilities in Sardinia and the Italian mainland.
The accident that cost the life of Alessandra Sabba occurred in the early afternoon of last Friday . The tourist from Rimini was traveling with her husband and children in a Citroen, when the small car collided with a van on the SS 125 (the Olbia-Arzachena highway) near the town of Casagliana.
The Olbia Highway Police are working to reconstruct the accident . They suspect a lane invasion (the cause of which is yet to be determined) or overtaking on the dangerous hairpin bends of a road that is one of the scandals of Gallura's traffic. A young man was driving the van, who was uninjured, while the victim's husband was behind the wheel of the Citroen.
