Head-on collision on Highway 196 in Villasor: One dead, three seriously injured

Fatal accident this morning around 6:30 am on State Road 196, in the municipality of Villasor.
According to initial reconstructions, a Fiat 500, with a woman aboard, and an Alfa Romeo 159, with four passengers, collided head-on. A forty-five-year-old resident of Serramanna, Giacomo Pilloni, died in the impact. He was headed to Cagliari, where he worked, with three colleagues with him.
The other occupants of the vehicles were seriously injured and were transported by 118 paramedics to the hospitals in Cagliari and San Gavino, all in critical condition. They are Jessica Pini from Decimomannu, Alessio Tanca, Michele Cocco, and Giampiero Lecca (the latter all from Serramanna).
No one would be in danger of dying.
In addition to the emergency services, Carabinieri from the Nuraminis and Serramanna stations also responded to the scene, conducting investigations to accurately reconstruct the accident and determine any responsibilities.
The road towards Decimomannu remained closed for a long time, with traffic diverted onto the Sp7.
