Head-on collision on Highway 196 in Villasor: One dead, three seriously injured

Fatal accident this morning around 6:30 a.m. on State Road 196, in the municipality of Villasor.
According to initial reconstructions, a Fiat 500, with a woman aboard, and an Alfa Romeo 159, with three passengers, collided head-on. A 45-year-old man, Giacomo Pilloni, a resident of Serramanna, died in the impact. He was traveling to Cagliari, where he worked, along with his colleagues.
The other three occupants of the vehicles were seriously injured and were transported by 118 paramedics to the hospitals in Cagliari and Sanluri, all with critical conditions.
In addition to the emergency services, Carabinieri from the Nuraminis and Serramanna stations also responded to the scene, conducting investigations to accurately reconstruct the accident and determine any responsibilities.
The roadway towards Decimomannu has been closed: traffic has been diverted onto the Sp7.
This is not the time for controversy over that fatal road for so many. The mayor of Serramanna, Gabriele Littera, simply says, "I just want to express my condolences to Giacomo's family and friends. I hope the others involved recover quickly."
