The Cagliari Police arrested a 44-year-old man held responsible for a series of assaults against pizza holders.

The man is suspected in particular of a robbery, an attempted robbery and a mugging.

According to what was ascertained by the investigators, with the threat of a knife, he would have had a total of 150 euros delivered by two delivery workers, in addition to the ordered pizzas and beers.

The technique used was always the same: he ordered pizzas and beer over the phone, warned the owner of the business to send the change for one hundred euros, indicated the delivery in via delle Coccinelle. Then he threatened the delivery boy with a knife, then stole money and pizzas and fled on foot. The facts alleged against the man date back to the evenings of last August 9, 11 and 14.

The investigators of the crimes against property section of the Cagliari Mobile Squad, coordinated by the manager Fabrizio Mustaro, identified the arrested person through the mobile phone number used to order the pizzas.

Confirmation of the man's possible involvement, underlines the Police Headquarters, however came from a service organized by the investigators during a new delivery of pizzas.

Indeed, on August 14, the 44-year-old had ordered three with some beers. At the delivery, this time, a policeman disguised as a delivery boy showed up. The man immediately pulled out the knife, but realized that something was wrong: he fled, losing track. Wanted throughout the city, he was tracked down yesterday, hidden in the house of a relative in the Cep district of Cagliari.

Now the 44-year-old is in Uta prison, at the disposal of the judicial authority.
