Francesco Corsiglia , 24 years old next August, will be back in the Tempio Pausania court on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 July to answer the questions of the lawyers of the civil party in the closed hearing of the trial for the alleged group sexual violence against an Italian Norwegian student.

Corsiglia is the only one of the four Genoese defendants - Ciro Grillo, Vittorio Lauria and Edoardo Capitta - who decided to undergo examination by the judging panel chaired by Marco Contu. For now the other three will not appear in court and could only make spontaneous statements later.

After the hearings of last 13 and 14 June which saw him answer for 5 hours to the questions of the public prosecutor of Tempio, Gregorio Capasso, Corsiglia, defended by the lawyers Antonella Cuccureddu and Gennaro Velle, returns to the courtroom.

In June the young man had denied having used violence in the sexual relationship he had with the student on the night between 16 and 17 July 2019 in the villa owned by the Grillo family in Porto Cervo .

Thursday 18 July will resume at 11.30 and it will be the turn of the civil parties, the lawyers Giulia Bongiorno and Dario Romano, to question Corsiglia. Then it will be the turn of the pool of defense lawyers of the four friends.

In June Corsiglia had been clear and lucid in his answers to the prosecutor : «It was a peaceful relationship, she was consenting. There was no violence", he had repeated several times, confirming what he also declared in the minutes during the first interrogation. He then denied having had an active role in the alleged rape: «I wasn't there, I was sleeping in another room. I only found out everything the next morning, when I woke up around 1.30pm and Ciro told me that all three had had sex with the girl."

The Italian-Norwegian student, on the other hand, told the police in Milan where she had gone with her mother to file a complaint a few days after the incident, claiming that she had been raped by the four after an evening of high levels of alcohol, first spent in the well-known Billionaire nightclub in Porto Cervo and then continued to the Grillo family's villa.
