Govossai, maximum level reached: hypothesis of revision of the rationing plan in Nuoro

The heavy rains that are affecting the Nuorese area in these hours have led to the filling of the Govossai basin. The rapid rise in levels has pushed the Abbanoa technicians to implement the necessary maneuvers to manage the arrival of the flood expected for the night, in compliance with the provisions of the Civil Protection, which has issued a hydrogeological risk alert at "red" level.
In these hours, Abbanoa technicians are carefully monitoring the Govossai reservoir to prevent the water level from exceeding the maximum allowed. To this end, the opening of the dam outlet has been arranged, in order to regulate the flow and prevent any risks related to the flood. The aim is to create space for the entry of additional volumes of water that could arrive with the intensification of rainfall.
Abbanoa explains this in a note, which emphasizes that "the water that will be released from the basin will not be lost, but will be reused for the needs of the Jann'e Ferru water purification plant. An excess portion will be poured into Lake Gusana, thus ensuring efficient use of the available water resources. These maneuvers will allow us to preserve Olai, the reference basin for the area's water supply, which will remain intact to ensure future supply to the territory."
With the intensification of rainfall and the consequent evolution of the situation, Abbanoa is considering a revision of the rationing plan scheduled to start on January 27. This plan includes water rationing for the municipalities served by the Jann'e Ferru water purification plant, but the current weather conditions could lead to a postponement of the measures. To assess the situation and discuss possible changes to the plan, Abbanoa has called a meeting with the coordination table, which involves the Region, Civil Protection, the Province, the Municipalities and the Governing Body of the Area. The meeting, which will be held at the beginning of next week, will be decisive in defining the necessary interventions based on the evolution of weather conditions and the levels of the basins.
