An undertaking concluded amid the applause of swimmers, friends and relatives. It is that of Gabriele Catta, a young 22-year-old university student originally from Monserrato, who in the afternoon completed the one hundred kilometer swim from Tortolì to Marina Piccola: a crossing, lasting 33 continuous hours, made with the aim of raising funds for cancer research. And dedicated to his grandfather, who passed away due to leukemia.
A few hundred people welcomed him, from his staff (in addition to those who followed him into the sea since yesterday morning, when he dived at 6:30 in Tertenia) to his family, up to the president of the City Council Marco Benucci, who gave him a parchment with the administration's compliments, and to the city councilor (and swimmer himself) Corrado Sorrentino who greeted him warmly.
