Acquitted because the fact does not exist .

The trial of a 37-year-old from Alghero who was the protagonist, in July four years ago, in a case that caused a sensation at the time ended today.

The man had parked the car in a stall for the disabled in the Lido area of the Catalan city and received a fine from the municipal police.

At that point he had engaged in a discussion with two agents in which, among other things, he had pronounced the phrase to their address, referring to the amount of the fine: "You spend all this money on medicine!" .

Soon after, the scenario had changed because, at the request for identification, the person, who would suffer from "anxiety states" , had taken refuge in the car. And from there a fight had arisen between the latter and the policeman.

The agent, according to the charge, had been kicked by the man, who in the meantime took shelter in the passenger seat. While the 37-year-old was allegedly beaten several times by the head policeman , this is his version, with the butt of the gun.

The injuries of both were then reported by becoming part of the investigation file together with the testimonies of those who witnessed the clash.

For the Algherese the charges were insult to a public official, resistance and injury .

Today, before the prosecutor Andrea Giganti and the lawyer Luigi Satta , defender of the accused, the judge Claudia Sechi , decided for the acquittal as requested by the same prosecutor.
