"It distresses me to know that my sister was lucid and understood that she was about to die."
These are the words of Andrea, the brother of Francesca Deidda, the 42-year-old who disappeared from San Sperate on May 10th and whose remains were later found on July 18th in a duffel bag in the countryside between Sinnai and San Vito, near the old state road 125, killed by her husband, Igor Sollai, 43 years old, who confessed to the crime and is now in prison in Uta on charges of aggravated premeditated voluntary homicide and concealment of a corpse.
Andrea spoke with the lawyer Gianfranco Piscitelli who represents him as a civil party after learning the results of the technical consultancy requested by the Prosecutor's Office: his sister was not sleeping when she was attacked by her husband, but she defended herself. The young man spoke with his lawyer. "Since yesterday I have been feeling very bad about this outcome," Francesca's brother told the lawyer, "and it distresses me to know that she was lucid and had understood that she was about to die. When it was assumed that she was probably sleeping it hurt less."
According to the findings of the pathologist Giulia Caccia, lesions attributable to a defense were found on Francesca's right hand: the woman had therefore attempted to escape the aggression of her husband who, according to the findings , hit her on the head with at least eight hammer blows, leaving her no escape.
