The Region cuts pharmacists out of the flu vaccination campaign in Sardinia. And it's immediately controversial. The one who raises the issue in the Regional Council is the exponent of the Reformers, Umberto Ticca, who announces a question: «The resolution of October 2 entrusts the task only to general practitioners who are already overwhelmed by an enormous workload. Pharmacists are authorized by the Ministry of Health to administer vaccines, and in Sardinia they have already played an essential role during the anti-Covid campaign, making access to vaccinations easier, especially for those who live in areas far from the main centers». For Ticca, the exclusion «is an easily remediable mistake, but it must be done immediately. It's time to overcome these short-sighted choices and finally make room for pharmacies, which are present in every municipality on the island. The Council must stop ignoring simple and effective solutions that are already within our reach».
Along the same lines, Claudio Cugusi, who speaks on behalf of Psi – Sardi in Europa, signs who had supported Todde during the election campaign: «If this mistake is not corrected immediately, the Sardinians will live a paradoxical situation», he attacks, underlining a further anomaly: «They will be able to get vaccinated for a fee in the pharmacy and their vaccination will be included in the national database but not in the Sardinian one, where they will be listed as unvaccinated».
We would not like, Cugusi continues, «that this oversight calls into question the dialogue opened with President Todde and included in her programmatic declarations. For us, the objective remains the one indicated by Federfarma: to structure the pharmacy of services on an experimental basis also in Sardinia. It is a matter of using the territorial network of pharmacies, present in every Sardinian municipality, to bring specialist telemedicine services such as electrocardiograms and blood pressure and cardiac Holter monitors closer to the patient's home. We continue to note the fragility of territorial health care but even the remedies within reach are not taken into consideration».
