Fire burned across one hundred hectares yesterday in Isca Manna , in the Serdiana area. A eucalyptus forest was also devastated.

Mayor Maurizio Cuccu spoke of the significant damage to the environment and thanked the Civil Protection Department for its massive response in the event.

The fire broke out around 11:00 a.m., prompting the alarm and the mobilization of the Forestry Corps and Forestas. Dozens of flights were carried out by two Canadairs and three mobilized helicopters, which dumped a large quantity of water from Margine Rosso onto the blaze . This operation helped contain the flames, which also found fuel among the low Mediterranean scrub and weeds.

At the moment there are no reports of damage to businesses or homes.

Two teams from the Cagliari Fire Brigade (one was later replaced by a team from Mandas), the Forestry Corps, Forestas, volunteers from the Special Operations Unit (NOS) of Quartu Sant'Elena with three fire engines, French firefighters from Masise with three vehicles and six Lombard volunteers hosted by the same association from Sinnai and Sant'Andrea operated on the ground using aircraft.
