Fear is spreading in Muravera, where a fire is threatening several homes in the Stagno delle Saline area. One vulnerable person has been evacuated . The flames have attacked agricultural areas bordering a scrub forest.
The Forestry Corps is responding with the support of three aircraft : a light aircraft from the Villasalto operations base and two Canadair aircraft, a second of which responded following the failure of the Super Puma that took off from Fenosu.
The DOS (Director of Fire Extinguishing Operations) of the Muravera Forestry Station is coordinating the firefighting operations on site. Ground teams are also involved: the GUAF unit of Cagliari, the Forestas Agency of Villaputzu-Muravera, volunteers from Sinnai, and the San Vito firefighters.
Flames are also burning in Bottidda, in the Sassari province, where civil protection officials evacuated four homes and as many families from some agricultural areas near the town as a precaution. Forestry officials are on site, supported by a regional helicopter from the Anela base.
