Fire breaks out in Aglientu: two helicopters and two Canadairs take flight

The Forestry Corps is responding to a fire in the countryside near the municipality of Aglientu with the support of a helicopter from its Limbara operations base, a SuperPuma , and two Canadairs . The operations room of the Tempio Forestry Inspectorate has been alerted to a fire in the pine forest near Monti Russu .
This is an area of extremely high environmental value, with numerous homes and a tourist resort nearby. Forestry Corps and Forestas officials were dispatched to the scene, and the Aglientu Local Police are intervening in the area and have blocked traffic on Provincial Road 90, the Castelsardo Santa Teresa .
Air vehicles are expected on site for the first drops on the fire front. The DOS of the Luogosanto Forestry Station is coordinating the extinguishing operations on site.
