A Sunday marked by a fire and an unexpected fine. This is what Simona P., a resident of Sestu, tells, protagonist of a misadventure that occurred in the territory of Decimomannu while trying to reach Iglesias where her fourteen-year-old son was engaged in a sports competition.

Blocked by a detour towards the town, imposed due to a serious fire along the state road 130 , the woman found herself in difficulty in finding an alternative route. According to her story, she asked for directions from the local police, present at the junction specifically to divert traffic, stopping briefly with the car on the side of the road near a patrol. From there, the situation escalated.

"I was fined (80 euros) because, like another gentleman who arrived shortly after, I pulled over to ask for information. I wasn't obstructing traffic, there wasn't a dangerous situation," Simona says, emphasizing that she never got out of the car.

What struck her more than the fine, however, were the tones used by the officers : "I was verbally attacked. I thought I could rely on men in uniform, but the tones used with me were strong and heavy."

The woman reports that she drove around the same area three times without finding updated directions either on Google Maps or on site. Only later did she learn of the detour caused by the ongoing emergency.

"I was literally shouted at. They told me I was causing a disturbance and ordered me to pull over. I did and then I got a ticket. The same scene was repeated with another driver, in the same condition as me."

The woman also says she sent a certified email to the Decimomannu municipal police to report the incident . At the moment she has not received a response. The local police, contacted by the editorial staff, did not comment on the incident, but said that the report was taken into account and that a response will be provided in the coming days.

"I would like to express my disappointment at how the work of the local police, who handled the emergency with professionalism, remained operational until 1:00 a.m. to secure the area and support the firefighters, has been belittled." This was stated by the mayor of Decimomannu, Monica Cadeddu , recalling that "when the road was closed for safety reasons, some homes were also evacuated. In this context, a driver ignored the officers' instructions, stopping in a dangerous area, despite repeated requests to proceed to a safe area."

And regarding the Pec sent, he adds : «It will receive a response within the expected time, like all the other reports that arrive daily to the municipal offices, many of which concern much more urgent situations. I find it incorrect that they choose to launch public accusations while remaining anonymous, delegitimizing those who work every day with seriousness and a spirit of service to protect collective safety».
