His name was Luca Pedrali, 60 years old, originally from Chiari and resident in Salò, a cave diver who lost his life this morning during an exploration of the Sources of Su Gologone , the karst spring located at the foot of the Supramonte of Oliena.

According to initial reports, Pedrali felt unwell and even managed to resurface. However, once he was out in the open, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and were continued by the 118 emergency services who arrived on the scene. Unfortunately, every attempt to save him was in vain.

Pedrali was a key figure in the Italian underwater exploration scene. Considered one of the most experienced cave divers in the country, he had achieved significant feats: last September, he set the Italian depth record in Lake Garda, reaching 264.8 meters between Tremosine and Limone, and in 2014, he achieved the national record for cave depth, reaching over 1,300 meters.
